At The Market
|
An at the market order is an order to buy or sell shares at the best price currently available. An investor placing an at the market order agrees to accept the best price available at the time the order is placed, with no restrictions. An advantage of an at the market order is that it is generally filled very quickly. While an at the market order is an easy order to place, it does not always result in the best possible price for the investor -- for this reason many seasoned investors use at the market orders sparingly. Typically an at the market order is a low-commission trade since the broker is required to do little work. An at the market order is also called a market order.
