Big Board

FYI - For 2011, Dow up, Dogs of the Dow up more (double digits)

Big Board is the nickname of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Over 80 percent of U.S. securities are traded on the Big Board, the largest stock market in the world. A significant number of Big Board companies are based outside the U.S.
Big Board members ply their trade on the trading floor. These brokers use the open outcry system to buy and sell stocks, bonds, warrants and rights in a verbal auction.
Many investors prefer securities listed on the Big Board over the other major U.S. stock markets (i.e. Nasdaq). The Big Board's listing requirements are more stringent, resulting in a pool of securities that are seen as more financially sound than those offered elsewhere. The Big Board also provides numerous shareholder protections to investors.
