Individual Investor

An individual investor is a person who manages his/her own money in order to achieve personal financial goals. Therefore, an individual investor needs to know the stock market thoroughly, inside and out. An individual investor studies financial news, earnings reports, and so on, in order to make the most informed decisions regarding personal investing. Most of the research an individual investor does tends to be via the Internet. In fact, trading through the Internet has become a very popular way for an individual investor to conduct business. An individual investor trades only for his/her own account and has no customers as does a financial institution. Some expenses incurred by an individual investor may be tax deductible. Consult a tax expert for advice on this subject.
