Investment Adviser
|
An investment adviser is someone who recommends the best ways in which to invest capital. An investment adviser may work closely with an investor, or an investment adviser may publish an investor adviser newsletter in which the same investment advice is given to multiple investors. If an investment adviser is associated with the brokerage house where an investor has a trading account then care should be taken that the advice given by the investment adviser is not unduly influenced by shares that the brokerage house itself wishes to sell. A full-service investment adviser may recommend a wide range of investments, not just stocks and mutual funds. No matter how well trusted an investment adviser is, it is still highly recommended that an investor perform his of her own due diligence before making any investment.
