Kangaroos

FYI - For 2011, Dow up, Dogs of the Dow up more (double digits)

Kangaroos are Australian stocks. They are so-named because of the famous jumping mammal that lives Down Under. More specifically, kangaroos are the stocks on the All Ordinaries index, which includes more than 300 of the largest and/or most active companies on the Australian Stock Exchange. The capitalization of kangaroos on the All Ordinaries index makes up about 95 percent of the value of shares on the exchange. There are numerous other indexes calculated from the exchange's kangaroos, such as the All Industrial index and the 50 Leaders index, but the All Ordinaries is the most representative index of Australia's kangaroos. The All Ordinaries index was established in 1980, and the value of its kangaroos is calculated and published every day.
