KMF
|
KMF is the three-character currency abbreviation for the Comoros Franc based on the ISO-4217 standard codes. KMF is the official currency of the Union of the Comoros. The common usage symbol for the KMF is CF. The Banque Centrale des Comores is the government institution that issues the KMF. The KMF divides into smaller units known as centimes. Each KMF equals 100 centimes. The KMF is considered a minor currency and is not actively traded in the international currency markets. The value of the KMF is pegged against the Euro. The Comoros central bank sets a fixed exchange value of the KMF to the Euro. Therefore, the exchange rate of the KMF to currencies other than the Euro, depends on that other currencys value to the Euro. The approximate conversion value (in late 2005) for the KMF in US dollars is KMF 400+ to USD 1.
